TCP Port - The TCP port which the driver communicates with the Sony series receiver. 33336 is the default setting.

Firmware Settings

Firmware Version - Select the firmware version of the Sony receiver.

- Firmware older than 1.060 - This setting should be selected for receivers not updated to a newer version of the Sony CIS-IP2 firmware. This is the setting that would be used on ZA2000/3000/5000 units that have not been updated to version 1.060 or greater.

- Firmware 1.060 and greater - This setting should be selected for any newer model Sony receivers or Sony receivers that have been updated to CIS-IP2 firmware version 1.060 or greater. This is the default setting of the driver.

Driver Notes

- This driver only supports Ethernet control of the Sony receivers that support the CIS-IP2 protocol. CIS-IP2 protocol capabilities are not available via serial (RS232). For serial (RS-232) control, use the Sony ES Receivers driver.

- Speaker Out, Equalizer, Audio Settings, and HDMI Settings command and variable capabilities may vary depending on how the system is setup.

- Events are provided for Connection/Initialization States along with Volume Display Mode and Main, Zone 2, Zone 3 power, mute, and source selections only.

- GUI Settings commands are provided for controlling On-Screen navigation.

- A RAW driver command is provided with parameters for Set/Get type, Feature Group, Feature, and Value. Refer to the Sony CIS-IP2 IP Control Protocol documentation for information.

- Additional source selections and sound field modes are dependent on what the specific model receiver is capable of. No testing has been done on any of these additions with exception of what the STR-ZA3000ES used for development supports.

- Air Play, Cast for Audio, Group Play, and Spotify sources are only available as variables and events. There are no functions provide to select these sources.

This driver uses the following templates for its sub sources:

In case of multiple entries, APEX uses the first available device in the template file.
