Description:
This driver is for the Sonance C4630 and DAB-1 distributed audio products with firmware version 2.0 or higher.
Sonance C4630 / DAB-1 Distributed Audio
This driver is for the Sonance C4630 and DAB-1 distributed audio products.
RS-232 Connection
The RS-232 connection on the C4630 / DAB-1 should be connected through a null modem to the XP-8 serial adapter.
Tuner
The Tuner commands only work on the DAB-1, as the C4630 does not have an internal tuner. All other commands work identically on both the DAB-1 and C4630.
"Current Output" System Variables & Commands
The driver implements an optional concept called "Current Output". The purpose of these commands is to allow a single set of controls to operate every output on the C4630 / DAB-1. As an example, this allows you to program a single set of tone controls to a handheld remote, and carry that remote around from zone to zone to adjust the tone control settings. The alternative would be to create six separate pages, one that controlled each output.
The "current output" commands should NOT be used for normal input switching and volume control, because there is only one current output for the entire system, changing it on any panel changes the output that the "current output" commands manipulate from every panel. The normal commands are fixed to a specific output and do not have this limitation.
A sample file, Current Output Demo.rti, is included with the driver that demonstrates the use of the current output for tone control adjustment.
