QMotion QIS

This driver is for the QMotion QIS shade controls.

Revision History

1.0 The Initial release of the driver

Connection Settings

See QMotion Qsync Operating Guide for more information on joining devices to network. a RS232 to RS484 converter will be needed to communicate between RTI's RS232 and the QMotion QIS RS485

The driver was created and tested using a B&B Model 485TBLED RS232 to RS485 Converter, if you choose this option you will need to follow the devices instructions on 2-Wire RS485 wiring. Also an adjustment for 115200 Baud Rate (a resistor addition) is required. Jumper pin configuration: Echo Off, Control SD.

Shade Count

Select the number of Shades in the system

Shade Naming

This is more for ease of programming, the driver does not use the name for control, Functions and System Variables will display the name dynamically

Shade ID

Enter the Shade ID found on the App, the shade itself, or found using the driver function in the Utility section labeled "Manual Shade ID".

Manual Shade ID: A button text field that will display the last manually pulled shade's ID

Group Count

Select the number of groups in the system.

Group Naming

This is more for ease of programming, the driver does not use the name for control, Functions and System Variables will display the name dynamically

Group ID

Enter the Group ID found in the Qmotion app. This is used for control so it must match the ID within the app. Only significant bits need to be entered and the driver will pad the appropriate zeros. \

For example Group ID 0x0010, should be entered as 10

*Note group ID 0 is reserved for an All Shades command

Driver Notes

The driver heartbeat cycles through the list of shades, sending a status request to one every twenty seconds, if you have the driver configured with more shades than are installed, or if there is an issue with one of the QIS devices denying a response from a portion of the shades, the system will display a disconnect. The driver will show which shade it is trying to reach on each heartbeat in the XP diagnostic driver, allowing for troubleshooting of the issue.
