Description:
This driver controls Pioneer"s Elite UHD Media player via ethernet or RS-232.
Please Note: There is a bug in the player that requires it to be manually turned on the first time it is powered up. After that the driver power commands will work.
Pioneer UDP-LX Series
This driver is for the Pioneer UDP-LX series Blu-ray players. The unit used during development was a UDP-LX500 with firmware 1.02.
Revision History
The Initial release of the driver
TCP Connection
The TCP connection on the Pioneer UDP-LX series Blu-ray player should be connected to the same network as the XP processor. It is recommended the unit be set to a static IP address.
The Pioneer UDP-LX series Blu-ray player uses port 8102, this is set as the default when the driver is loaded. The MAC Address of the Pioneer UDP-LX series Blu-ray player is also needed to assure proper control of power.
RS-232 Connection
The RS-232 connection on the Pioneer UDP-LX series Blu-ray player should be connected directly to the XP serial adapter. A null modem adapter is not required.
The Pioneer UDP-LX series Blu-ray player uses a baud rate of 9600. This is set as the default when the driver is loaded.
Driver Notes
The Pioneer Blu-ray Player needs to be manually powered on the first time before the driver functionality will start.
In the event power is lost to the environment the Blu-ray player will need to be manually powered on again.
This is a limitation of the Pioneer Blu-ray Player, NOT the driver.
The driver utilizes a combination of query routines and transport command triggered feedback in order to receive the playback information. Feedback via RS-232 may have a delay in updating process due to the way the unit responds via RS232.
Feedback is limited to playing state when listening to a CD.
Feedback is limited to playing state when a separate hard drive is in use for playing digital content.
