Updated: Sept. 21, 2018
Version: 1.0

Description:

This driver is for controlling the Monitor IA Amplifiers.

Monitor IA Series

This driver is for controlling the Monitor IA150-8C & IA800-2C Amplifiers. It has not been tested with the IA200-2C but according to Monitor Audio documentation the protocols are the same.

Revision History

1.0 Initial release of the driver.

Connection Type

Network (TCP)

TCP Address - Enter the IP address of the Monitor Audio Amplifier. It is recommended to assign a static IP address either via the Monitor Audio web page or MAC reservation in the network router.

TCP Port - Enter the network port to use for TCP control. The default TCP port for the Monitor Audio Amplifier is port 52000.

Model Configuration

Model

Select the model in use. Selection options are the IA150-8C or IA800-2C.

Driver Notes

- This driver controls only the Group aspects of the Monitor Audio amplifiers. All channels to be used must be setup and assigned to Groups using the web page setup.

- Driver commands, variables, and/or events are provided for Group Name, Power, Input, Volume and Mute.

Note:

The Monitor Audio Amplifiers can’t be queried for group power status. This means that upon download the power status for each group won’t populate until a power change is initiated for each group. Once the power status for all groups has been updated, if all control occurs through the driver, then the driver will take care of tracking the power status and stay up to date.

- Driver commands are provided for the “All Groups” option, but variables and events are not available.

- Driver feedback and/or events are provided for Channel Name, Short Protect, and Overtemp.

Note(s):

The Channel Short Protect and Overtemp queries are sent to the amplifier approximately every 15 minutes once the system initializes. If the state of any channels short protect or Overtemp changes, events will be triggered for the respective channel and state.

Verification that the variables for Short Protect and Overtemp populate has been assured. However Short Protect and Overtemp have not been test because to do so would require potentially damaging the Monitor Audio equipment. RTI is not authorized to purposely short a channel or create conditions that would cause the unit to overheat.

- Master Power changes do not affect the Group Power variables being as the Group Power status cannot be polled for. If the Monitor Audio Amplifier is powered off using the Master Power Off command and is then turned back on using the Master Power On command, the driver will continuously poll for accurate master power status. Once the Amplifier replies that it is on, the driver will then poll the individual groups for updating volume, input, and mute status variables.

- Automated polling routines are implemented in the attempt at keeping the variable information accurate as long as the Monitor Audio Amplifier is only controlled through the driver.
