Marantz NA7004 Network Audio Player

This driver supports the Marantz NA7004 via ethernet or serial control. The serial port requires a straight through cable with the standard RJ45 to 9 pin adapter. You cannot use both ports at the same time.

Note:
Cover art is supplied by the driver, but is not officially part of the published protocol. It should be considered an 'experimental' feature as firmware changes could disable this feature.

Streaming services are considered separate inputs and are chosen the same way the external inputs are chosen. Selecting a streaming service can take as much as 10 seconds to switch

The device does not support true scrolling lists. Menus are built by stacking the Digital Metadata text variable, the Selected Metadata boolean variable and the Select Line command on 10 stacked text boxes (see the sample file) with the first box being menu titles. Navigation is done through the 'Streaming Control' commands. The line selection commands just calculate how far to scroll and send a string of up or down commands.

There is no feedback for the transport state, or for the state of repeat and shuffle. Favorites are also not functional in this version of the firmware.

Revision History

1.0 The initial release of the driver
1.01 Fixed default repeat values in menu selection commands
1.02 Fixes a trap where the Pandora source can display "Are you sure you want to sign out" without telling the driver, trapping the user in a menu he can't see (You still can't sign in if you do agree to sign out (without the on screen display) but at least you can get out of the menu by saying no)
