Description:
This driver supports Knox matrix switchers connected to the XP Processor via RS-232.
Knox Matrix Switcher
This driver is for Knox matrix switchers. It supports up to a 32x32 matrix switch via RS-232. It has been tested with a Chameleon 256 and a RS 8x8.
Version Information
Version 1.0 - Initial release of the driver.
RS-232 Connection
The RS-232 connection on the Knox switch should be connected with a straight-through cable to the XP processor.
The Knox switch defaults to a baud rate of 9600, but can be set to baud rates of 1200, 2400, 9600, and 19200.
Switch Settings
- Digit Count - Number of digits for driver to use in commands (1=xy, 2=xxyy, 3=xxxyyy). Refer to matrix switch documentation for info on preferred setting.
- Output Count - Number of outputs/zones on matrix switch.
- Input Count - Number of inputs on matrix switch.
Special Notes
- When controlling the switch manually (not with the driver commands), be sure to follow the same format the "Digit Count" configuration is set to. Example - If "Digit Count" is set to 3, the format for setting Audio/Video Input 1 to Audio/Video Output 2 would be B002001(Enter).
