Introduction

“Extron Scaler” Driver helps integrate Extron’s “IN1606” Scalers with RTI control processors. This driver can connect to scaler on either TCP/IP or via RS232 connection & supports 2-Way communication.

Driver Features

Supports 6 Input & 3 Outputs.

Entering “Password” is not supported in this version of driver. Please disable the same in Extron Scaler settings to use this driver.

Provides Boolean Variables to display status.

Events to trigger Driver Functions or Alerts based on status feedback received from Scaler.

Can connect to Scaler on TCP/IP or RS232 port.

Prerequisites

Installation, Commissioning & Programming of Extron Scaler.

Configure Static IP & Port No. to use TCP/IP connectivity.

Configure Baud Rate, etc. as necessary to use RS232 connectivity.

Driver Configuration

General & Scaler Settings:

Scaler Name - Enter ‘Name’ to identify this Scaler in Debug Console.

Event Trigger - Here you can select the behaviour of how Events are triggered. Select either to trigger events only when the previous status is different from current status or trigger events whenever the status is reported.

Communication Type - Select either TCP/IP or RS232 to connect to scaler.

IP AddressT - Enter IP address of Scaler.

TCP/IP Port No.T - Enter TCP/IP port No. on which RTI processor will connect to scaler. Default port No. is 23.

Serial PortR - Select one of the unused RS232 ports of RTI processor.

Baud RateR - Select Baud Rate as configured in scaler. Default rate is 9600.

Max No. of Inputs to use - Enter Maximum No. of Input ports used in this project. This provides ease of programming.

Debug Settings:

Driver provides 3 Levels of Debug information for driver performance monitoring & troubleshooting. Select any or all options to get “Error”, “Warning” and/or “Info” debug messages as necessary in RTI’s “TraceViewer” debug console. Note: The option(s) to be enabled only for reasons mentioned & shall be unselected during handover of project. Keeping this option(s) Selected will consume extra Processor resources.

Input Port Settings:

Use Input-i - Select, if input-i is active & used in this project.

Input-i Name - Enter Name to identify this input in programming.

Output Port Settings:

Use Output-o - Select, if output-o is active & used in this project.

Output-o Name - Enter Name to identify this output in programming.

NOTE:

Options 4.1.4 & 4.1.5 marked with (T) are available only when TCP/IP is selected at 4.1.3.

Similarly, options 4.1.6 & 4.1.7 marked with (R) are available only when RS232 is selected at 4.1.3.

i = Input Port No. between 1 ~ 6. Options like 4.3.1 & 4.3.2 will be available for each of the available Inputs.

o = Output Port No. between 1 ~ 3. Options like 4.4.1 & 4.4.2 will be available for each of the available Inputs.

Option to enter Name for Input port (eg. 4.3.2) is available only when Use Input port (eg. 4.3.1) of that particular Input is selected.

Option to enter Name for Output port (eg. 4.4.2) is available only when Use Output port (eg. 4.4.1) of that particular Output is selected

Option availability to configure Use Input port or Input port Name depends on value of Max No. of Ports entered at 4.1.8.
