System Requirements
- RTI Integration Designer: 11.x or above
- RTI XP Processor Firmware: 25.x or above
- All HEOS devices and the RTI processor must be on the same subnet within the network
Driver Configuration
1. Prepare Devices
Using the HEOS app, configure all HEOS devices and verify normal operation before adding the driver.
Recommended preparation steps:
- Ensure that the RTI processor and all connected devices are on the same subnet within the network.
- Assign static IP addresses to HEOS devices and RTI Processor where possible to prevent IP changes after reboots.
2. Configure Driver Settings
- Enter the Driver name.
- Enter the HEOS credentials at HEOS Username and HEOS Password.
- Enter the IP address of any HEOS‑supported device.
3. Run the Configuration Script
- Click Get Device Data to connect to each configured device and pull in device information.
- Device count - No of devices in player count are automatically generated.
- Step Volume - Select the step volume value for device volume adjustment.
- Player Name - Name of the player and can be changed if needed.
- The script queries each device's capabilities and dynamically generates sources, functions, and variables scoped to what each device actually supports.
- click Build Driver.
4. Build Driver Data
The driver automatically creates controls only for discovered devices and supported capabilities.
5. Add Sources
After the configuration process completes, the following sources become available for discovered devices.
- {Player_Name} -- Player level Controls
Autoprogram
- With sources added, use autoprogramming to link functions and variables to your template buttons. The driver uses generic button tags (Play, Volume Up, Mute On, etc.) that match standard RTI template tags directly.
Note
- All HEOS devices and the RTI processor must be connected to the same subnet within the network. This is required for device discovery and reliable ongoing communication.
- Use the same HEOS account credentials across all configuration and control operations to ensure access to the full set of driver features.
- The driver exposes the following variable:
- Driver Connected - (true/false) this indicates whether the driver is in connected state with HEOS device.
- {Player_Name} Active - (true/false) this indicates whether the player is connected to the network or inactive.
- Message - Holds the latest message generated by the driver, including status updates, warnings, or error notifications. This variable provides visibility into driver communication.
- If the Driver Connected variable reads false, verify that all devices are powered on, connected to the network, and on the correct subnet before troubleshooting further.
- Only select the available inputs that the device supports to avoid errors.
- Music Services are available based on HEOS documention.
Limitations
- Functions and variables are generated based on what each device reports as supported. A feature listed in Driver Features may not appear for a specific device model if that device does not report support for it via the API.
- All HEOS devices must be on the same subnet within the network — devices on different subnets or VLANs will not be discovered or controlled.
