Description:
This driver is for Anthem AVM 50v processors, connected to the XP processor via RS-232.
Version History:
Version 1.01 adds driver configuration selection for command terminator for added compatibility.
Anthem AVM 50v Processor
This driver was designed and tested with an Anthem AVM 50v Processor (firmware version 2.11).
Note - This driver is NOT compatible with MRX Receivers.
Revision History
1.0 The Initial release of the driver
1.01 Added Terminator Selection to the driver configuration for model compatibility.
1.1 Added Apex auto programming capabilities for Room Volume.
RS-232 Connection
The Serial (RS-232) connection on the Anthem processor should be connected with a straight through cable to the XP series processor serial adapter.
The baud rate of the Serial (RS-232) port can be set between 2400-115200. Default is set to 19200. Flow control on the AVM must be set to None.
Driver Notes
- Variable initialization for the zones (Main, Zone 2, and Zone 3) only happens the first time the zone is turned on. If the zone is already on, a power cycle of the zone may be required.
- Variable values for volume, balance, tone/eq adjustments, and channel levels vary from command to command. If a level is changed the value may initially be different from the front display reading of the Anthem processor (the processor display rounds the actual value), but will adjust shortly as a query command is subsequently sent updating the driver value to match the display.
- It is recommended that while using the driver, controlling the Anthem processor by any means other than the driver commands be kept to a minimum as the Anthem processor does not offer unsolicited feedback.
Note - This driver is NOT compatible with MRX Receivers.
