Soundtrack Your Brand
By: David Bowdler
Updated: July 24, 2026
Version: 1.17
Soundtrack Your Brand
Control a venue's Soundtrack Your Brand commercial background-music subscription from any RTI touch panel or remote — play/pause, skip, volume, browse playlists and tracks, and switch between sound zones. The driver talks to Soundtrack's cloud GraphQL API, so the RTI processor only needs internet access — it does NOT need to be on the same network as the Soundtrack players. See it in action: youtu.be/Dx54cm_6KN8
Key Features
- Up to 8 sound zones: each Player is an independently controllable Soundtrack zone with its own transport, volume and now-playing feedback
- One-click zone discovery: Discover Soundtrack Zones signs in, reads every zone the account can see, and pre-assigns them to Players 1-8
- Size-adaptive Web Object dashboard: one hosted URL auto-detects the Web Object's dimensions and renders the right layout — a wide strip, a tall panel or a full page — with spinning-record artwork, transport, a “Coming Up” queue and theming
- Live now-playing feedback: track, artist, album, artwork, elapsed/duration/progress, current playlist, shuffle state and the next-up queue, per zone
- Full-screen browse & search: switch between Playlists and Tracks, type to search, tap a result to play it — also available as an on-screen Browse Menu for hardware remotes
- Fixed-audio / DSP support: hide the volume control per zone, or for the whole site, where a house DSP owns the level instead of Soundtrack
- Persistent sign-in: sign in once with an API token or account email/password — the driver renews its own session automatically, nothing needs re-entering
- Diagnostics: optional remote logging for support, plus Reconnect / Rediscover for a quick re-sync without a full redeploy
Requirements
- RTI processor (XP-8 / XP-8v / XP-8s), runtime 24+, Integration Designer 11.4+
- Internet access on the processor (outbound HTTPS to api.soundtrackyourbrand.com) — no local network access to the Soundtrack players is required
- A Soundtrack Your Brand account for the venue, with EITHER an API token OR the account email + password
How It Works
After signing in, run Discover Soundtrack Zones to fill the Player 1-8 zone list, then assign each Player to a room and drop RTI's Media Player template — the play/pause/skip/volume tags auto-program. The driver polls Soundtrack's cloud on a timer to keep now-playing state and feedback current, and the Web Object dashboard renders live from the same data so panels of any size show the right layout automatically. A 120-minute fully functional trial is included; a per-processor licence key is available from the Smart Home Programming store.
Soundtrack Your Brand Control Driver
Version 1.17
Control the venue's Soundtrack Your Brand background music from any RTI touch panel or remote: play/pause, skip, volume, browse playlists, switch zones, plus a premium now-playing web dashboard that adapts to any panel size. The processor talks to Soundtrack's cloud, so it only needs internet access - it does NOT need to be on the same network as the players.
Requirements
- RTI processor (XP-8 / XP-8v / XP-8s), runtime 24+, IDesign 11.4+.
- Internet access on the processor (outbound HTTPS to api.soundtrackyourbrand.com).
- A Soundtrack Your Brand account for the venue, and EITHER an API token OR the account email + password.
- A licence key from Smart Home Programming (per processor). Without one the driver runs a 120-minute trial.
Setup at a glance
1. Add the driver to your project.
2. Sign In - API token or email + password.
3. Discover Soundtrack Zones.
4. Assign zones to players (and set Fixed Audio for DSP sites).
5. Add a Soundtrack source to each room and drop a Media Player page.
6. Point a Web Object at the dashboard URL.
7. Enter the licence key.
Step 1 - Add the driver
Add Soundtrack Your Brand to the project like any other driver. It appears under Drivers.
Step 2 - Sign In
Select the driver, open Driver Properties. In the Sign In section use ONE of two options - both keep the driver signed in permanently (it renews itself automatically, nothing needs re-entering):
Option A - API Token (recommended): paste a permanent Soundtrack API token (create one in the venue's Soundtrack business account under Settings, Integrations / API). It never expires. Leave Email/Password blank.
Option B - Email + Password: if the account cannot create an API token, enter the venue's Soundtrack login email and password (leave the API Token blank). The driver signs itself in and keeps the session alive.
The Connection (Advanced) settings are correct for every install - leave them at their defaults.
Step 3 - Discover Soundtrack Zones
With Sign In filled in, run Driver Utilities, Discover Soundtrack Zones. The driver signs in, reads every sound zone the account can see, fills the Player 1-8 Zone dropdowns, pre-assigns the first zones, and sets the Player Count.
Step 4 - Assign players and Fixed Audio
Each Player is one controllable sound zone. Set Player Count to how many zones this project controls, and pick the Zone for each Player. Optionally set a friendly Player Name.
Fixed Audio (hide volume): tick a player's Fixed Audio to hide its volume control (level set elsewhere). For a whole-site DSP install where every zone's level is set by a DSP, tick Fixed Audio - Hide Volume (all zones) at the top of the Players section. Save the project.
Step 5 - Add the source to rooms
Add a Soundtrack Your Brand source to each room/controller, build a page, and drop RTI's Media Player template - the play/pause/skip/volume tags auto-program. You can also bind buttons to the driver's tags manually.
Step 6 - Add the Web Object dashboard
Place an Advanced Web Object and set its Default URL to:
https://shpdrivers.services/soundtrack/np-c2.html?mac=PROCESSOR-MAC&player=N
PROCESSOR-MAC is the RTI processor's MAC (hyphens or colons both work). N is the player number this object shows (player=1 for Player 1, etc.).
ONE URL for every size: the same link auto-detects the web-object dimensions and renders the right layout - a wide strip, a tall panel, or a full page. Keep Enable Cloud Web Object ticked (it is by default).
Step 7 - Licence
Paste the Licence Key supplied by Smart Home Programming for this processor's MAC into the Licence section. Without a key the driver runs a 120-minute trial and then stops sending commands (now-playing feedback keeps working). Send Smart Home Programming the processor MAC to obtain a key.
Using the interface
- Now Playing: spinning record + album art, track/artist, progress, and transport (shuffle, play/pause, skip). There is no previous-track - Soundtrack only skips forward.
- Coming Up: swipe across to a scrolling list of upcoming tracks.
- Browse: the search icon opens a full-screen browser - switch between Playlists and Tracks, type to search, tap a result to play it.
- Switch Zone: tap the zone name (top left) to switch which zone this panel controls (shown when more than one player is configured).
- Settings: the gear icon changes the accent colour and background (presets or a custom colour picker).
- Volume: a slider, unless the zone is Fixed Audio, in which case it is hidden.
Troubleshooting
- "Enter a token or Email + Password" on Discover: fill in the Sign In section first, then run Discover again.
- Discover finds no zones: confirm the account is active and the token/login is correct, and the processor has internet.
- Panel shows Connecting: confirm the Web Object URL mac= is the processor MAC and player=N matches a configured player, and Enable Cloud Web Object is ticked.
- Volume changes rejected: set Max Volume (Connection, Advanced) to the player's real maximum (Soundtrack players vary, commonly 0-16).
- Volume shows where it should not: tick Fixed Audio for that zone, or Hide Volume (all zones) for DSP sites.
- Web object looks stale after an update: force-quit and reopen the RTI app on the panel.
