Sharp PN-UN553V Video Wall Display
Full two-way control of the Sharp / Sharp-NEC PN-UN553V and PN-UN553S 55" Full HD ultra-narrow-bezel video-wall displays, over Ethernet or RS-232 — both hardware-verified on a real panel.

Requirements
- Sharp / Sharp-NEC PN-UN553V or PN-UN553S display.
- Network connection (recommended) or an RS-232 serial link to the processor.
- MONITOR > STANDBY MODE set to STANDARD so the panel stays controllable in standby.
How It Works
The panel is the Sharp/NEC MultiSync platform, controlled with a plain text command set on TCP port 7142 (or the same commands over RS-232). The driver polls state continuously and auto-reconnects, so the interface always reflects the panel. A 120-minute trial runs without a licence; a per-processor key unlocks it permanently.
Sharp PN-UN553V Video Wall Display Driver

Controls Sharp / Sharp-NEC PN-UN553V and PN-UN553S 55" Full HD video wall displays over the network. Provides power, input, volume, AV mute, picture (brightness / contrast / colour / hue / sharpness / backlight), video-wall TileMatrix, and full two-way feedback (power, input, volume, mute, picture, tilematrix, model / serial / firmware).
How it connects
This panel is the Sharp/NEC MultiSync platform. It can be controlled over LAN or RS-232C - both are hardware-verified and use the same text command set. LAN is recommended for networked installs (TCP port 7142, no user name or password); RS-232C is available where a serial link is preferred.
Setup (LAN)
1. Give the display a reserved / static IP. Find its address in the display's web page (browse to its IP - the "Monitor LAN Control" page, NETWORK (CONTROL) section) or on the OSD.
2. In Driver Properties, leave Transport = LAN, enter the Display IP Address, and leave LAN Port = 7142.
3. Set MONITOR > STANDBY MODE to STANDARD so the panel stays network-responsive in standby.
Note: the panel's web page may ask you to set an HTTP password on first use. That only secures the web page - it is NOT needed by the driver's command port (7142).
Setup (RS-232C)
1. Wire a straight-through serial cable from the processor to the display's RS-232C INPUT terminal (9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit).
2. In Driver Properties, set Transport = RS-232C and select the processor Serial Port.
3. Set MONITOR > STANDBY MODE to STANDARD. (Note: the panel occasionally returns a placeholder for the Firmware Version readout over serial - this is a panel quirk and does not affect control.)
No remote in the box?
That is correct for this model. The video-wall PN-UN553V ships without a handheld remote - the remote (and its IR sensor) are the optional KT-RC3 kit. Use the buttons on the rear edge of the panel (POWER / INPUT / MENU / + / -) for the OSD, and this driver for everything else.
Functions
- Power: On, Off (Standby), Toggle.
- Input: DVI, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, DisplayPort 1, DisplayPort 2, VGA, Video, Media Player, Compute Module, Option; plus Input Select by Token.
- Audio: Volume Up / Down / Set (0-100), Audio Mute On / Off / Toggle. (Video-wall models may have no speakers.)
- AV Mute: AV Mute (audio + video) On / Off / Toggle, Video Mute On / Off / Toggle.
- Picture: Brightness, Contrast, Colour, Hue, Sharpness, Backlight - each Set (0-100) plus Up / Down. Auto Adjust (VGA input only).
- Video Wall: TileMatrix Enable / Disable / Toggle.
- Diagnostics: Refresh Status, Probe Protocol, Send Raw Command.
Feedback
Variables include Power, Input (name + a boolean per input), Volume, Audio / Video / Any AV mute, all six picture values, TileMatrix Enabled, Status / Running, and Model / Serial / Firmware. Events fire on power, input change, audio-mute, video-mute, tilematrix and connection changes.
Diagnostics
A telnet debug console is available on port 12534 (Debug Console Port setting). Connect with any telnet client and type 'help'. The 'probe' command queries every command and prints the replies - useful for confirming what your exact unit supports.
Licensing
The driver runs a 120-minute trial. After it expires, control commands stop until a licence key is entered (feedback keeps working). The key is tied to this processor's MAC address - see the MAC For Key variable. Purchase a key at smarthomeprogramming.com.au.
